Speed Painting Fail

Well today's class was for speed painting and trying to recreate a landscape on photoshop, I'm not very good at photoshop so I found it particularly difficult. But I carried on and tried to complete it to the best of my ability.

It was my first attempt at using layers and actually trying to draw a whole piece on photoshop, so in that respect I'm fairly proud of what I actually did.

Some of the little doodles I've been doing

I've been doing little doodles around the work being set and figured I'd post a few of them. Enjoy!

I was thinking about my game idea and came up with this idea as some of the characters would be a mechanical human and so I wanted to portray that in the eye.

Here I just wanted to draw eyes, mouths and faces because for some reason I like doing that.

This was a quick piece of concept I did for my games encounters lessons.

MONSTERS FOR HALLOWEEN

Yup Halloween time is here and out come the ghoulies and the ghosties, but also all of the weird monster designs lurking in the darkest corners of my brain, Here's what I managed to come up with.

Tentacles, yes tentacles

So the task was tentacles, I begun by making a moodboard to which I could reference to and it also created the basis for my ideas to span from. I wanted to go down the human with tentacles route, whether it be a human with tentacles as it's legs or something like that, I didn't know yet. I started off doing a few little sketches of tentacles and little concepts and then moved on to doing one piece that as soon as I started it I didn't like and another which I liked a lot from the very beginning.

The one on the right was the one I didn't like from the moment I started drawing it. However before starting the one on the left I realised I wanted to create and Ursula from Ariel with zombie influences which seemed to work out well.

One point perspective

So the task was to create landscape using one point perspective and i like the idea of having the vanishing point on a horizon with a moon or a sun on the horizon. So this is what I strived to create. I've done one point perspective before and I really wanted to create a cool looking drawing.

I started by putting in my horizon and vanishing point, as they are the two main element. I then marked out all of the main parts of the drawing in which I wanted to include (i.e the shops, railing and the moon). Finally I added in tone and some people to depth tone and flare. Overall i'm farely proud of what i did :)
